Coats Dual Duty sewing threads
Coats Dual Duty is a premium quality corespun thread with excellent wash-down characteristics ideal for denim wear and jeans.
It is a corespun sewing thread that combines a high tenacity polyester filament core with a natural cotton cover. The filament core offers excellent strength and durability, while the long staple cotton wrap ensures excellent sewing performance and protects the core from needle heat.

Coats Astra is a best-in-class staple spun polyester (SSP) thread with significantly higher sewing performance compared with regular SSP threads.

Coats Gramax sewing threads
Coats Gramax is a 100% polyester continuous filament textured thread.
The textured filaments give the thread a soft feel and make it ideal for use in the loopers of overlocking, serging and cover seaming to provide softness and comfort, especially in “next-to-skin” seams.
Gramax provides good seam coverage and softness for neat, comfortable seams.

Coats Surfilor sewing threads
Coats Surfilor is an exceptionally soft texturised nylon sewing thread which produces seams with a luxurious feel.
This fluffy thread has excellent extensibility and good sewing performance. The inherent crimp properties of Surfilor deliver excellent seam coverage, therefore giving exceptional seam comfort in your garments. It is suitable for use in the loopers of overlocking, serging and cover seaming on jersey knitted fabrics.
Surfilor makes it possible for you to create exceptionally soft seams where a nylon thread is preferred over polyester, ideal for "next-to-the-skin" applications. In addition low friction sewing lubricant will help to provide good sewing performance.

Coats Gral sewing threads
Coats Gral is a lubricated polyester thread made from pre-stabilised high tenacity continuous filament polyester. Its higher breaking strength and optimum stretch characteristics produces attractive, fine seams on leather footwear and leather goods. Gral is an excellent sewing thread for all types of leather and has very good abrasion resistance.
The soft finish with superior low friction lubrication reduces the effects of needle heat and abrasion. Gral exhibits excellent loop formation, consistent stitch formation and gives you a neat seam appearance.
Coats Aptan sewing threads
Coats Aptan is a lubricated nylon thread made from pre-stabilised continuous filament nylon 6.6 and is suitable for garment dye programmes with nylon fabrics.
It has a soft, low friction finish which reduces the effects of needle heat and offers excellent abrasion resistance. Treated with specially formulated lubricant, Aptan offers excellent frictional characteristics during high speed sewing operations. It has controlled stretch characteristics for good loop formation and tight, firm and balanced stitches.
Aptan 6.6 nylon is 30% stronger than ordinary nylon 6.0 thread. The higher strength to fineness ratio makes very fine seams possible in footwear and other applications.
Coats Nylbond sewing threads
Coats Nylbond is a bonded nylon thread made from pre-stabilised continuous filament nylon 6.6.
It cuts cleanly at thread trimming with no ply separation and provides superior abrasion resistance in the sewn product. The high tenacity nylon allows for outstanding strength and durability. Its unique bond chemistry and proprietary coating technology produces a strong and supple thread with no ply untwisting, no flaking and no 'sewn in' colour change.
Coats Terko satin sewing threads
Coats Terko Satin is a cotton wrapped polyester corespun thread with a glace finish.
This thread combines the sewing performance and appearance of cotton with the superior strength and elongation characteristics of continuous filament polyester. The cotton wrap protects the polyester core from needle heat even from your most demanding applications. The glace finish gives Terko its lustrous effect and enhanced abrasion resistance. Terko Satin is polished through a specially-engineered process using a customised formulation to ensure that the fibres are held together during tough sewing operations, resulting in strong seams.
Coats Firefly sewing threads
Firefly Fil is a continuous filament 100% meta-aramid sewing thread that can resist flame temperatures up to 371°C without melting or dripping.
It offers exceptional flame, heat and electrical resistance for protective garments and is engineered to meet all safety regulatory standards. Although incredibly strong, Firefly Fil has a fine surface finish and is manufactured with special dyes that can survive multiple washes.
Coats Flame Master sewing threads
Coats Flame Master is a polyester corespun sewing thread with a special finish that offers excellent permanent flame protection. It is available in the most extensive shade range of any flame resistant sewing thread. Its corespun technology results in superior sewing performance compared to any other flame resistant thread.
When flame resistant performance wear is mandatory for firefighters, welders, industrial workers, military and public order personnel, then Flame Master is the recommended thread choice.
Coats Pyrostar sewing threads
Coats Pyrostar is a 100% long staple spun meta-aramid sewing thread that offers outstanding, permanent heat and flame protection up to 371°C.
The long staple technology allows a finer thread to achieve similar strength characteristics to a coarser, staple spun product. It is ideal for flame retardant clothing which requires very fine seams without compromising strength. It is recommended for flame retardant embroidery.
Pyrostar may also be used in a wide range of other applications such as filters and sealings. It delivers excellent strength, durability, seam appearance and superior sewing performance due to its special finishing.
Coats Protos sewing threads
Coats Protos is a 100% para-aramid thread which is stronger than steel and can withstand temperatures up to 450°C as well as extreme stress.
Stronger than steel, para-aramid is a high tenacity, high modulus fibre and delivers high retained strength after heat ageing at elevated temperatures. Protos uses a unique spinning capability for low fault para-aramid yarn.
It has been specifically developed to meet the exacting fire and heat safety standards in many industries including; aerospace, automotive and insulation. This makes it an excellent choice for safety products and protective garments. It is also used in military applications and for tape edging operations on mattresses.
Coats Helios sewing threads
Coats Helios C is a high performance sewing thread made from a steel core (steel class 1.4301 or AISI 304) with 8 to 10 steel wires wrapped with a flame retardant cotton cover.
Helios C can resist temperatures of approximately 500 - 600°C without any mechanical strain and approximately 300°C under mechanical strain. The cotton cover will turn brown at temperatures between 180 – 220°C and will completely carbonise at higher temperatures.
Main uses – welding blankets, fire curtains, insulation jackets, thermal covers and more.
Coats Signal sewing threads
Coats Signal thread is a high-tech retro-reflective sewing and embroidery thread for fashion applications in apparel sewing.
When illuminated by a light source, it helps to enhance the visibility at night-time or in difficult weather conditions and adds that extra special decorative feature. The daytime colour is silver and when illuminated by light the reflected colour is white.
It is a specially developed thread to give you an extraordinary high level of retro-reflectance coupled with good sewability. Signal has been bonded to prevent the ply from unravelling during sewing, and lubricated to protect against needle heat and make sure it sews smoothly - even in high-speed sewing environments.
Signal is a high-tech thread with excellent strength and durability, primarily for high visibility fashion applications. It is not for safety wear where strict norms for reflectivity values are specified.
